Steve Maher, CSP PE

Principal Engineer

Steve Maher, CSP PE graduated from Duke University with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and Carnegie Mellon with a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering. He has over 40 years of experience in the PSM / RMP field. He is currently licensed in the State of California as a Mechanical Engineer and in the State of Pennsylvania as a Chemical Engineer.

Steve has focused his career in oil, gas, and refining and specializes in HAZOP/LOPA facilitation. He is also certified for several oil and gas corporations specifically for their HAZOP/LOPA methodologies. He has been an active participant in and regularly presents at the Global Congress for Process Safety (GCPS) Conferences. Steve is also a regular presenter for Risk Management Professionals’ webinar series.

Stephanie Smith, PE

Principal Engineer

Ms. Stephanie Smith, PE graduated from California Polytechnic State University with a B.S. in Environmental Engineering and the University of Southern California with a M.S. in Environmental Engineering. Stephanie has over 17 years engineering consulting experience. She is currently licensed in the State of California as a Civil Engineer and is also HAZWOPER certified.

Stephanie has focused her career on ammonia refrigeration, cogeneration, and municipalities. She is an active member of the Refrigerating Engineers & Technicians Association (RETA). She serves on the RETA Los Angeles Chapter Board and the RETA National Certification Committee. Ms. Smith is also currently serving the IIAR National Marketing Committee as the Marketing Committee Chair. She is a regular presenter at industry conferences and on Risk Management Professionals webinar series.

Craig Stickelmaier, EIT

Senior ENGINEER I

Mr. Stickelmaier graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. He is immersed in multiple aspects of the RMP, PSM, CalARP, and CAPP Programs. He has focused his efforts on HAZOP/LOPA facilitation, as well as HAZID and What-If/Checklist methodologies.  In addition, Mr. Stickelmaier has lead projects in P&ID development and field verification, and regulatory auditing and support.

Mr. Stickelmaier has presented at multiple GCPS Conferences and is an active member of AIChE. He is an active presenter and developer of Risk Management Professionals outreach products.

Ryan Bray

SENIOR TECHNICAL CONSULTANT

Mr. Bray has 12 years of experience in the health and safety field assisting in technical workshops, marketing activities, and various types of safety plans. Since 2013, he has been a Technical Consultant at Risk Management Professionals and is focusing on FEMA and CalOES HMPs as well as emergency preparedness planning. Mr. Bray’s process safety experience includes performing updates and providing guidance on RMP, PSM, and CalARP Programs, including scribing and facilitation support for PHAs and conducting Compliance Audits. Mr. Bray’s extensive HMP experience has focused on local emergency planning, hazard and risk assessment, water demand assessments, grant writing and applications, UWMPs, debris management planning, and RRAs.

Mr. Bray is an active member on the City of Corona CERT, CVCSD, RETA, and IIAR. He is a regular presenter at several industry-related conferences and developer of content for Risk Management Professionals’ outreach and education programs.

Jose Chavez

Project ENGINEER I

Mr. Jose Chavez graduated from the University of California, Riverside with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. Through his experience and education, Mr. Chavez has been immersed in multiple aspects of the RMP, PSM, and CalARP Program development, including HAZOP/LOPA facilitation, What-If/Checklist, and MOC PHAs. He has provided support for ISO Safety Plan development, a variety of industry Compliance Audits, and dispersion modeling support.

He is an active member of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) and the American Chemical Society (ACS).

Saige McCluskey

Project Engineer I

Ms. Saige McCluskey graduated from California State University, Long Beach with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. She supports in RMP, PSM, and CalARP Program development. Ms. McCluskey is focused on PHAs utilizing HAZOP /LOPA methodologies, as well as the HAZID methodology and MOC PHAs. She has assisted clients with toxic and flammable substance dispersion modeling and regulatory support with Triennial Compliance Audits. Ms. McCluskey’s PHA experience includes petroleum and renewable fuels, solar power generation, gas processing / transportation / storage, chemical manufacturing, industrial refrigeration, and mineral extraction.

Ms. McCluskey is an active member of AIChE.

Joyce Shen, EIT

Project ENGINEER I

Ms. Joyce Shen graduated from the University of California, San Diego with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. She provides technical support being involved in RMP, PSM, and CalARP Program development. In addition, she targets her efforts in HAZOP/LOPA scribe and facilitation support. She has conducted latent failure and human factors analyses for multiple industries, as well as toxic and flammable gas and liquid dispersion modeling.

Ms. Shen is an active member of AIChE and is a regular developer of content for Risk Management Professionals’ TechTips.

Brian Camey, EIT

Project Engineer I

Mr. Brian Camey graduated from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona with a M.S and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Since joining Risk Management Professionals, Mr. Camey has been gaining experience in multiple aspects of US EPA RMP, OSHA PSM, and CalARP Program development and Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) for a variety of projects.

Kyle Crosby

Project ENGINEER I

Mr. Kyle Crosby graduated from California State University, Long Beach with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and a Minor in Environmental Engineering. Since joining Risk Management Professionals, Mr. Crosby has been gaining experience in  Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) in a variety of industries by performing scribing in PHA sessions.

Kevin Cardoza

Project Engineer I

Mr. Kevin Cardoza graduated from University of California, Riverside with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. He supports RMP, PSM, and CalARP Program development and Triennial Compliance Audits for wastewater treatment facilities, industrial refrigeration systems, and cogeneration facilities. Mr. Cardoza supports PHA studies utilizing HAZOP and What-If / Checklist methodologies as a scribe and facilitator, as well as supports projects requiring toxic and flammable dispersion modeling.

Mr. Cardoza is actively involved in Risk Management Professionals’ support for industrial refrigeration non-profits, including RETA and IIAR. In addition, he is the lead engineer in Risk Management Professionals’ international outreach, focusing on South America.

Jose Alvarez

Mr. Jose Alvarez graduated from the University of California, Riverside with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. Since joining Risk Management Professionals, Mr. Alvarez has assisted in RMP, PSM, and CalARP Program development. He also supports PHAs utilizing the HAZOP and LOPA methodologies, Hazard Assessment / OCA dispersion modeling for toxic and flammable substances, and hazardous materials inventory calculations.

Camille Fernandez

Project Engineer I

Ms. Camille Fernandez graduated from University of California, Riverside with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering with a minor in Environmental Sciences. Since joining Risk Management Professionals, Ms. Fernandez has been gaining experience in multiple aspects of US EPA RMP, OSHA PSM, and CalARP Program development, Triennial Compliance Audits, and Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) for a variety of projects.

Michael Lehman

Project ENGINEER I

Mr. Michael Lehman graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. His experience prior to Risk Management Professionals includes environmental consulting for air pollution reduction projects and taking a lead role in business operations for a roofing company. Since joining Risk Management Professionals, Mr. Lehman has supported PHAs, Hazard Assessment / OCA dispersion modeling for toxic and flammable substances, and hazardous materials inventory calculations.

Kimveng Tea

Engineering Intern

Mr. Kimveng Tea is currently attending the University of California, Irvine and graduating in June 2024 with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. Since joining Risk Management Professionals, he has supported Hazard Assessment / OCA dispersion modeling for toxic and flammable substances, and hazardous materials inventory calculations.

Shireen Kulkarni

Technical Consultant

Since starting at Risk Management Professionals, Ms. Shireen Kulkarni has assisted with marketing activities and various types of safety plans and is focusing on FEMA and CalOES HMPs and other municipal product lines.
