Update: Discharge Requirements for Sanitary Sewer Systems
In May 2006 the State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) adopted the Waste Discharge Requirements (WDR), a regulatory program which will provide a consistent statewide approach to operation, maintenance, and management plans to reduce Sanitary Sewer Overflows (SSOs). A Sewer System management Plan qualified and proficient team of engineers to conduct the tasks required for SSMP program compliance. In order to comply with the 2007 deadlines, we will complete the following tasks:
Task 1: SSMP Compliance Assessment
During a facility site visit, the facilities SSMP documentation will be reviewed to determine the level of compliance/completion. Also onsite interviews and records verification will be conducted.
Task 2: SSMP Assessment Report
A report, including recommendations, will be developed based on the findings from the SSMP Compliance Assessment.
Task 3: SSMP Development Plan
The development plan will identify how each SSMP program element will be addressed. The report will include making assignmnets, defining scope, and assigning a schedule and associated cost to each SSMP program element. Also included in Task 3, Section 1-Goals and Section 2-Organization for the SSMP Program will be developed. A facility meeting will be conducted for review of the Assessment Report and Assignment of deficiencies. |
